Strategic Client Lead - Generation Services

Our client, a market leader in the B2B energy retail sector, is seeking three Strategic Client Leads to join their Generation Services team. This is a high-impact role involving the sale of structured, highly complex, or bespoke energy solutions, such as Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with renewable certificates like ROCs (Renewable Obligation Certificates) and REGOS (Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin).

This position combines hybrid working flexibility, with ad-hoc office presence (based in Solihull) and nationwide travel.

Key responsibilities:

  • Cultivate and manage strategic relationships with high-value stakeholders and senior management across key partnerships to drive new business opportunities.
  • Actively identify and pursue sector growth through the delivery of PPAs, ROCs, and REGOS to achieve ambitious growth targets.
  • Maintain accurate account data across the team, ensuring sustainable pipelines in power and gas supply, and Data & Metering Services (D&MS).
  • Develop and implement a territory plan to achieve agreed revenue, EBIT, and volume targets, while identifying cross-sell opportunities to maximise customer value.
  • Leverage deep industry expertise to build and expand high-level external networks that enhance the organisation’s reputation and open new business avenues.
  • Ensure all deals comply with agreed DOA and approvals processes, minimising rework and ensuring quality delivery.

What we’re looking for:

  • In-depth knowledge of the UK energy market, especially within Generation Services, with skills in developing, negotiating, and executing complex products, as well as credit and financial management tools.
  • Experience working with independent energy generators and strategic customers.
  • Strong commercial and technical background with significant experience in the energy sector.
  • Proven expertise in managing accounts across multiple sectors such as PPAs, ROCs, REGOS, power supply, and gas supply.
  • Sharp awareness of competitors' strengths and weaknesses in the Generation Services market, with the ability to leverage this insight.
  • Full UK driving license.
