Embedded Firmware Developer

Location: Sofia, Bulgaria

Our client is an international technology company developing products and providing cloud and connectivity services for the IoT. Its portfolio comprises communication equipment for the security industry, energy distribution, logistics, and more. We seek creative candidates to support new and existing product development initiatives for software application development, cellular communicators, and home automation systems.
 

Your new role:

The Embedded Firmware Developer will design and implement firmware for award-winning alarm communicators, panels, and next-gen IoT devices. The role will present an opportunity to work with technologies such as wide-area cell networks (4G-LTE, 5G), local mesh networks (ZWave, Zigbee), smart sensors, and other peripheral security and home automation devices.

 

  • Perform end-to-end design, development, and implementation of firmware across a range of devices;
  • Improve the design and performance of the existing code, fix bugs, and perform code refactoring;
  • Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize code efficiency;
  • Work with a scrum-based approach in an agile environment, including pair programming;
  • Perform analog and digital data analysis with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc;
  • Communicate with module manufacturers;
  • Assist and coach other team members.

 

Requirements:

  • Programming proficiency in C;
  • Good understanding of micro-controllers and embedded systems;
  • Bachelor or master’s in Computer science, Informatics, or equivalent;
  • RT OS or similar operating system application development experience is an advantage;
  • Experience with ST Microcontrollers, GSM modules, or IoT devices is also considered as an advantage.
