Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Sanatorium Director / CEO to lead the overall operations, strategy, and business management of a premier 160-bed medical wellness and integrative rehabilitation facility in Baiersbronn (Black Forest), Baden-Württemberg region.
Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, you will assume full P&L accountability, guide day-to-day operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive strategic growth across healthcare management, guest experience, and operational innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Financial Management: Develop and execute mid- to long-term business strategies, operational budgets, and growth initiatives to optimize occupancy rates, revenue, and cost structures.
Operational Leadership: Oversee daily facility operations, including healthcare and nursing services, hospitality, back-of-house logistics, and corporate administration.
Team Governance & Talent Development: Recruit, lead, and evaluate core department heads (Medical Lead, Nursing Director, Operations/Logistics Manager) and foster a high-performance, guest-centric culture.
Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure strict adherence to German healthcare laws, nursing regulations, privacy standards (GDPR), and medical quality protocols, maintaining zero tolerance for safety and clinical risks.
Guest Experience & Cross-Border Care: Elevate service delivery standards for international and high-net-worth residential guests undergoing long-term integrative wellness and preventive care programmes.
Digitalisation & Innovation: Collaborate with digital management teams to support the integration of AI-enabled health monitoring and smart clinic technologies into operational workflows.
Key Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s degree or above in Healthcare Management, Public Health, Nursing, Hospitality/Facility Management, or a related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of senior executive management experience running a sanatorium, rehabilitation clinic, or high-end residential healthcare/elderly care facility in Germany.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of German healthcare legislation, statutory/private billing standards, GDPR, and quality assurance frameworks.
• Leadership & Track Record: Proven P&L accountability with a track record of driving operational efficiency, high occupancy, and client satisfaction.
• Languages:
German: Native or fluent (C1/C2 level) — Required.
English: Professional working proficiency — Required.
Chinese (Mandarin): Conversational or working proficiency — A strong advantage.
