Customer Quality Engineer

EvolveTalent® is supporting an international technology and engineering organisation in the confidential search for an experienced Customer Quality Engineer in Finland.
They are to ensure customer satisfaction and quality in resolving effectively customer quality problems and improving constantly the quality level, measured by the listed KPIs. Key role in projects is to ensure customer requirements are well captured and defined, and followed throughout the project. Lead quality improvement and prevention projects.
We are looking for someone who combines genuine quality expertise with a strong technical or engineering understanding and who is comfortable working closely with engineering teams, customers and other cross-functional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Duties
Problem Resolution & Issue Management
Drive timely resolution of customer issues by prioritizing cases based on failure severity, topology, and commercial context.
Assume primary ownership of quality issues, leading cross-functional teams using structured methodologies (8D, A3) to implement root-cause corrective actions across products and processes.
Plan, coordinate, and execute technical analyses across internal laboratories, customer sites, and supplier facilities.
Author and present detailed technical root-cause reports and corrective action plans to global sales offices and external clients.
Customer Relations & Advocacy
Serve as the primary quality contact for customers, country sales offices, and technical support teams to understand application context and technical needs.
Participate in customer site visits, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), First Article Inspection (FAI), Factory Witness Testing (FWT), and customer quality audits.
Capture and embed the "Voice of Customer" across internal operations, ensuring compliance with customer-specific quality requirements.
Monitor project quality metrics to maximize customer satisfaction while maintaining strict zero-safety-issue standards.
Proactive Quality, Coaching & Continuous Improvement
Prevent recurring issues by addressing root causes and embedding lessons learned across engineering, plant operations, and sales channels.
Mentor and coach plant and R&D teams in quality tools and frameworks, including 8D Problem Solving, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement (CIP), and Quality Audits.
Key Interfaces & Metrics
  • Key Stakeholders: External Customers, Country Sales Offices, Product Management, R&D, Manufacturing Plants, and Global Suppliers.
  • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Customer Satisfaction Index, Response Lead Time, 8D/A3 Report Quality, Failure & Warranty Rates, and Cost of Non-Conformance (CONC).
Your Profile
Education: Successfully completed degree (B.Sc. or higher) in Engineering (Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar) or a comparable technical/business qualification.
Professional Experience: Extensive (>10 years) relevant professional experience in quality engineering / quality management within an international industrial environment.
Technical Expertise: Sound knowledge in electronics and electro-mechanics.
Methodological Competence: Strong proficiency in standard quality tools and methods (8D, Six Sigma, DFSS, DFMEA, APQP, PPAP, Auditing).
Soft Skills & Leadership:
Strong leadership skills to manage cross-functional and international teams.
Pronounced customer orientation ("Customer Advocacy") with a high level of initiative and urgency regarding critical issues.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills when interacting with customers, sales locations, and management.
  • Language Skills: Business fluent in written and spoken Finnish and English.

Location
The position is based in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area, Finland, and requires regular presence with the local organisation.
Candidates based elsewhere in Finland who are open to relocation or regular presence in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area are also welcome to apply.
